ABSTRACT

Many of my abstract paintings begin with a spirit of play and only a loose sense of direction. As marks develop on the canvas, the process becomes a kind of call and response. Gradually the painting reveals its own structure and meaning.

These works often express a mood or metaphor that emerges through the act of painting itself.
